The Treasury Executive Office of Assets  Forfeiture (TEOAF)    is responsible for the sale of seized homes.  They work daily with law enforcement agents. Agencies served are Customs and Border Protection (CBP), IRS-Criminal Division; Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE); the U.S. Secret Service;  the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms;  and the Food and Drug Administration. Homes are sold by auction and sealed bid.

The  U S Dept of Agriculture  Rural Development  has for sale homes that are  potential foreclosures  and foreclosures.

Homes are sold by auction. 

County and State goverments sell homes at public auction from Tax Liens. Private companies also buy the  homes to resell for profit.

                         PRIVATE SECTOR HOMES

The Brokers Public Auctions are regularly held events. This is for a single home or more usually for a group of homes in a neighborhood.  They are advertised in advance and held as a public auction.

The Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA) known as Fannie Mae, sells homes from foreclosures. They are sold through real estate agents and listed in the local (MLS).

The  Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) sells homes from foreclosures. They are sold to people through brokers and by public auction.

The   Asset  Management  Companies, have homes  being foreclosed by different private lenders. Asset managers often handle pre-foreclosure valuations and inspections for lenders. After a foreclosure is completed, they coordinate with a local real estate agent to get the property listed and sold.

The  Banks  and  Institutions  which have homes from fore-closures. They maintain lists of foreclosed properties that are available for sale to the general public. They are sold  through brokers and by public auction.

The  Manufactured Home Distributors  have homes that are sold as repossessed homes. These will not be attached to land and would be personal property and not real estate property.
